techmesh York IT Security event a success!
This week’s ‘How secure is your technology – prevention is better than cure’ event, University of York was another great event for techmesh. Thanks to Stuart Barker, Agenci Ltd, Tracy Hannan, KC Business and Mark Wityszyn, Ventura part of Capita Group, who did a fantastic job with their presentations. IT & Telecoms Expo 2011 to showcase the region’s assets
We invite companies across Yorkshire eager to find out more about the latest trends and developments in IT & Telecoms to attend EXPO 2011. The exhibition, which is being held at the Royal Armouries on the 13th October, is organised by techmesh, the region’s only dedicated IT & Telecoms member network.
EXPO 2011 provides a valuable insight into how the world of technology is changing in today’s fast paced environment. Over 40+ exhibitors; a techpanel – a seasoned panel of experts debating hot topics; the interactive zone a lively, buzzing focal point of the exhibition where visitors can watch, listen and play with the very latest in technology; a SME surgery for one to one advice from our industry experts.
techmesh is working closely with the Chambers across our region along with a number of other significant networks to promote the event, which is not only great news for the IT & Telecoms sector, but for the region as a whole.
Collaboration with other networks is proving to be a powerful medium to drive the sector forward. EXPO 2011 is the perfect example of how collaboration can strengthen relationships as well as educate and stimulate those with a focus on technology. The event promises to be one of the most successful events in the sector’s calendar.

BT's Trevor Higgins presents at techmesh Leeds
Regional Partnership Director, Trevor Higgins confirmed this week he will present at 'Digital Britain - Emerging Technologies' 19th July at the Rose Bowl, Leeds Met from 8am. BT are investing £2.5b in provding superfast broadband to 70% of the UK by 2012. Trevor will give an update on progress and discuss benefits for business.
A great line up with Andrew Bettany from the University of York, discussing the launch of Microsoft Office 365, Peter Hopton Very PC (with KC) promoting green IT and Digial Media Projects on retail sales boosting digital signage.

Last night saw the latest monthly event by techmesh, the hub of IT & Telecoms expertise in Yorkshire and the Humber. Great attendance by both IT professionals and business leaders. Speakers were excellent, encouraging a lively debate on the why's and how's of procurement in both the public and private sector.

Grow Your Business through Practical Cloud Computing
Our event on last Thursday (17th March) ‘Grow Your Business through Practical Cloud Computing’ was a phenomenal success. A big thank you to everyone involved particularly DLA Piper, Leeds for use of their venue and kind hospitality, it was perfect.
Over 70 techmesh members, business managers and suppliers of IT & Telecoms services from around the region attended. As well as networking with their peers, guests listened to industry experts, watched live demonstrations and heard from businesses that have implemented and adopted cloud solutions.
From ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’ experts guided guests through the processes and provided practical advice on the success and challenges of introducing the cloud.
The event was in collaboration with Chartered Management Institute http://www.managers.org.uk/
Our next event is Growing Your Technology Business (part one) on Thursday 7th April in Sheffield – we hope to see old and new members there.
